On 31 March 2016, the ILO and the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) organized an event in Hanoi to launch the Preventing forced labour in the textile and garment supply chains in Viet Nam: Guide for employers and Guide for trainers. The guides were jointly developed and issued by the VCCI and the ILO Forced Labour Action in the Asian Region (FLARE project). The guides are designed to help businesses in Viet Nam to assess, identify and mitigate risks of forced labour in their company operations and supply chains.
Background report for the Oslo Conference. It explores good practice from around the world aimed at improving labour conditions and protecting vulnerable workers in the sector, with the objective of encouraging learning and knowledge sharing across geographical regions.
In October 2014, the World Bank requested the ILO to assess the potential use of child labour and forced labour by the beneficiaries of World Bank projects in specific areas, with particular emphasis on the cotton harvest. The report presents the key findings of the monitoring carried out by the ILO in September and October 2015.
