Eliminating forced labour and human trafficking in Nepal

Bonded labour in Nepal is widely regarded as the product of a feudal system wherein people are deprived of their freedom, safety, security and human dignity. An increasing number of Nepalese migrant workers are trafficked for sexual and labour exploitation, either within Nepal or across the border to India and the Middle East. There are no reliable estimates on the scope of the problem but the number of identified victims is increasing.
